CHAO PARTIES

I am thinking about bringing back or restarting or whatever the CHAO hours idea but instead of a nightly thing I am thinking a weekly party time. During this time the goal would be to have as many people active as possible and to partake in ridiculous mini-tournament style stuff. If you like this idea let me know and start throwing out ideas for what we can play, and this is not limited to just CHA.

YESS~~~~!!!!!!~!~!~!~!~!~ that would be the crazy. the thing is that we would only the people that read the forums would know about this, which isnt that much. i think a requirement to be on the clan(s) would be to be active on the forums... that would up general skill level too. bleh. this is off topic now. once again-YESS~~~~!!!!!!~!~!~!~!~!~ that would be the crazy!

Well actually my plan is to have each upcoming party time in the MOTD when you log into the BNET chao channel. I could also have the bot advertise for it, and while I agree the forum activity would be a great requirement, having any 'real requirements' for a wc3 clan is kinda silly and ends up just causing more work for the shamans or chief.

Well looks like im actually gonna have to make some more builds.

OK first chao party will be this Friday night at 10pm (est). The game will be (assuming we have at least 4 people)

Game: CHA 3.1b
Team: 2v2 (pick your own teams)
Who: anyone
Settings: Default
Special Rules: When we are ready to play I will announce 2 sets of 4 skills. Each team will have to use the 2 sets of skills. You will be able to pick whatever Hero and Items you want. Don't worry I haven't thought of what these skills will be so im not just gonna practice a random build then make everyone else play it.

Reward: suggestions welcome, more people we have the better the reward can be although i can't really do a whole lot

Each team should play with the same builds, or have at least have someway of balancing who gets what skills.

thats what i mean there will be 2 builds, each team has to play those 2 builds. whi plays which one will be up to them

oh yeah... woops. And what prizes could we possibly give to people besides promos?

promos...um...i can give them shout outs in the MOTD and Bot MOTDs? um...i can send them cookies? if we get enough interest to eventually do a big enough tournie then im sure glorn would add a legit winner to the HoF. They get to pick what we do for the next tournie? (this is probably the most reasonable, and would require my approval and be limited to no more than 2 in a row)

We could setup a ranking system for chao.
have everyone start at 1 then with every match vs a clan member they more points win.
different clan ranks are worth different points.

peon=1

grunt=2

shammy=3

chief=4

also if a peon beats a shammy they can be promoted to grunt.
I can do shout outs in the bot all I would have to do is edit some text files that would congratulate the winners every time a bot game starts and ends.

so if a team of peons beats a team of shamans do they then get 6 points each?

Just like to interject, that shaman and chief members dont get their ranks due to their skill. There are really only 2 classes, peons, and non peons. No offense to verti, but he is a casual player. Im sure a lot of grunts and shaman can roll over him endlessly. A lot of grunts can roll shaman. So to give more points for someone of equal skill would quickly degrade the whole system.

You could give EVERONE a base of 500 points. When you beat someone, you get 10% of their points. So, a kick ass player with 4000 points has a lot more to lose; but also would wanna increase his score more; or other people would wanna take his points.

This isnt too different from the current ranking system; just a different median of exchange.

see thats the beauty of you taking all the better skilled grunts and peons with you...now i can usually beat all the grunts and peons when i actually play.

also I am pretty sure these points were only in reference to these parties, or mini tournies so the points would serve a purpose if a peon or grunt is getting a lot more points than other peons and grunts that means they are beating shamans or me on a regular basis and should probably be considered for promotion. additionally while I might not be better than the shamans, there are currently 4 of them vs 1 of me. So IF you manage to play me and win it should be worth more points just because its less likely to occur.

Verti yes it would be like 6 points making it harder for shamans to earn points and easier for peons and grunts to earn points more or less.If it is a match between say me and undead vs moose and dermie if they win they gain 6pts if we win we only get 4pts.So people who are looking for the bigger points go after better players.If you are looking for a easier match but less points fight peons grunts are in the middle.But it does go without saying that there are players who can upset.But that's where the fun is in the game.
