Ventrilo Rules

Here are the basic rules for being in a community that has Ventrilo.

• Don't Talk while others are Talking.
  
• Don't Talk with food (or a penis) in your mouth.
  
• Don't Use Voice Activated.
  
• Don't Cause Drama.
  
• Stay in the "The Clan" Channel Group.
  
• Fuck doesn't need to be every other word that comes out of your mouth.
  
• Don't Play Music/tv/movies through your Mic (it is quite annoying).
  
• Don't Talk simply because no one else is talking (if you need constant sound, listen to music/tv/movie).
  
• Don't make gross, annoying, loud noises.
  
• Don't join/leave the channels 38109489112 times, it makes a ton of noise.
  
• You don't need to reply to everything someone says.
  
• Don't page someone over and over.
  
• Nothing inappropriate in your comment, keep it PG (we have little kids who use vent).

• Absolutely no singing
  
  AMENDMENT II
  
  
• Just about anything goes in the "Shenanigan Zone" channel. If you dont like it, leave the channel.

If you become a problem in Ventrilo, the following actions will be taken.

1. Talk with myself and shamans/glorn.
   
2. Global Mute (1 night)
   
3. Permanent Global Mute
   
4. IP Ban

lol yeah, but that person got plenty of warnings from all over the place from plenty of people many times.

Still, at the time there was no rules or even a punishment action list. they skipped punishment 2 & 3 and went straight to 4. For being "annoying"

well, rules are made when people don't behave as they should in a certain environment with certain people. You don't need them until a reason comes up to make them. The reason got banned and now the rules are made clear so it does not happen again and control is maintained.

These are general social conventions that come along with the whole learning manners and courtesy. Really shouldn't even need to be made into a rules list.

Shankz, we did not skip punishments 2 and 3. I globally muted him several on several occasions. Also, this is not a debate thread. This is a list of rules, not a area for arguing about why or why not someone was banned.

indeed, this list of rules is so that we wont have to deal with telling someone 80 times to stop being annoying, to stop being rude, to stop licking my eardrum. Considering a dozen people wanted a "certain someone" banned from vent, it would be safe to say that he was doing things than many people considered "wrong to do".

He has gotten more warning in his short time with the clan than anyone else in the history of CHA has ever gotten.

Maybe in a month, if he is still interested, he can appeal for an unban; though it is unlikely. Personally, I give a lot of second chances (and 47th, in the case of territo) and he blew so many chances, it seems pointless to even consider that he wouldnt do the same thing again that he has done with everyone. It wasnt like he only blew chances with me, but with pretty much everyone, on separate occasions.

He broke the number 1 rule don't cause drama. and as H said its not up for debate.

btw, does gum count as food? i always chew gum while playing, and therefore while venting. nobody seems to notice tho, so im assuming that its impossible to tell when some1s chewing gum, just tell me to stop if you notice it tho.

Glorn and myself have no problem/hesitation to tell someone when they are being a problem in vent. If you are annoying in vent, believe me, you will know.

well, how about you dont chew while talking? that is what is annoying. If you have a peice of food in your cheek, so are talking funny, that doesnt really matter. It is just a funny voice. But when you are lip smacking, and I hear the squishing of the cheese from your pizza, as you chew-talk... I want to climb through vent, shit in your mouth, then sew your mouth shut. Then, yeh know, hang you upside down, so when you vomit, there will be liquid shit pouring of your nose, and into your eyes; before you sufficate on said combination of vomit and shit.

unless there is a complaint about you, you can continue to do whatever you are doing. if there is a problem it will be brought to your attention so you can deal with it.

yeti and i both agreed on this. i know that epic and glorn would both agree on this aswell, so you arethe only person who wouldnt agree. it wold be 3-1 (not including myself)

meh vents not as social as it used to be. honestly it's become a lot of stiffs who b and m about mike quality. granted when its really bad even I have a problem with it but for the most part i think its only on rare occasions. plus honestly try and have fun on vent. I mean just b/c glorn doesnt like it doesnt make it fun or wrong. I'm also not saying go against rules ect.

On a separate note since it's been really bugging me ever since i got back. try and be a bit more accepting of others and their hardware on vent before you make some assholish comment that makes you sound like a giant flaming pile of poop. unless you REEAAAALY CARE about that. If it REEAAAALY is you one goal in life to ensure that everyone has the best mike quality before you accept them for who they are... ya then by all means. continue acting the way you are.

I think there are lines that have to be drawn.

If there are 4-5 of us in vent, screwing around, and someone starts playing a funny song through vent, and no one is being annoyed by it, then who cares? the problem comes in, where that will happen once... then everyone and their cousin will start doing it, while there are a dozen people in there, not acting like idiots.

Also, mic quality, if you cant understand the person, then dont talk to them. I do this a lot. Dont make a big scene about it; some people have shitty mics, or internal mics. If it is a major annoyance to everyone (AKA, they have volume blasting with 4X reverb coming through) then yeah, kick them out.

My psychotic fucking hatred is stuff that is completely at the fault of the talker. People who talk with their mouth full. Or push down their button, so they can sneeze into vent. Or burp into vent. Or scream into vent. Things that you have to make conscious decisions to do.

As this is H's vent, he is allowed to make and enforce rules that prohibit things that are an annoyance to the general public.

People complain to me or him about activities in vent, and we gotta do something about it. Do ur annoying stuff in the shenanigan zone?

i'm not gonna make a big deal about this, but i would like to be at least consulted before "we" make rules for vent.

and as far as i recall having just 2 out of the 5 people who are supposed to be managing the clan (h and yeti out of h, yeti, epic, glorn and i) isn't considered a majority.

P.S. I don't mind the amendment. Infact i support it.
