Is there any chance for a tourny?

It seems kind of sad to leave the last WC version without a proper send off. Is there any prize that might bring in people to play? I got Dota 2 beta recently and I'm willing to donate it if its possible to trade whole thing. I also got 2 gifts I can chip in with it although I'm not entirely sure how gifts work exactly. Of course I'm not able to do any trading until the 12th of January. Off topic how do the gifts work do they give them the full game or like a 1 week demo of the game? It would seem kind of lame to have a person spend like 2 hours downloading something that disappears the very next day.

We still dont have the bots updated with the new edit ><. I would love a tourny though. If we can get 8 people willing to play, I can get something set up. People go back to college mid january, right? That is our time frame.

Well I doubt we can get more then 5 but I figure I would dangle a hot ticket item and see if it peaks any interest at all. I'm assuming a gift is a full game so giving that away would allow the winner to either trade it or sell it. Saving another gift to give away for the SC version might peak some interest too but maybe not.

Yeah, I would have no problem with that. as a "sending off" tourny, I hope this can be more for fun, and less for competition. I'm gonna ask a few people who dont use the forum much, to make sure they are interested, then I can write up a quick tidbit on the tourny.

While you guys are all here, does anyone have a timeframe that will, or will not work for them? Like, "I am reasonably free for the next 2 weeks) or "Saturday-Sunday I am out of town and will not be able to log on". Lets see if we can put together 2 days in a row where we can all get on; if so when we lose the tourny, we can continue to watch, or play games with other tourny losers. See how long we can keep 10 people online. ^^

I work in the mornings but have all day free after that so any time after 12:30 ish. carefulibite=randomloser between.

I generally work afternoons from 3-6 or 7ish but before or after im usually free, i currently on christmas break so i gots lot of free time, just hit me up via pm

Does anyone here have anything against new years day? Later in the day? Most people wont have work or school. Everyone should be sober by say, 5PM? 5 until we all get bored and go do other things?

I'm fine with that what was the type of tourney you and epic were trying to do last time? I think we can revisit that idea and have that be the type of tourney. If you remember what it was exactly.

I think it is just gonna be a "1v1 tourny". That list idea was more for a 20 person tourny; with just a few people it would defeat the purpose of having a list.

New years day is not a problem for me except my computer ... it's gone down the shitter, as you've seen. I tried playing games with random as well on this computer but it didn't work either. I do have access to a different computer that actually loads but most likely not that day. I will see what I can do before then.

I think there is a save function that allows you to save the game in such a case. I don't know I never used it but I have over a 100 different maps saved in the load saved game folder. Usually it's done by sore losers as an annoyance but it does exist. If the person your playing is willing to allow it you can probably do that and not have to forfeit. Just make sure to save the game before leaving and you can probably start where you both left off. Just a bump reminder is everyone okay with New Years? Also I haven't seen a single confirmation from either epic or wrathruin in this topic. So far it's just the 6 so two slots open for whoever wants them.

Good call i have used it before, i have had the occasional trigger problem with it but if it happens maybe they will allow a rematch.

Normally at this point a list would have been posted regarding matches in this tourney, ?? I will participate if I can load. If I can't I won't even bother. The tourney is in 2 days, and as of now I will be using my current computer so hopefully it works.

People can fill in for anyone who doesnt show; or we can add another pair of starters.

if it ends up being a 6 man tourny, the first round is winner take all; the final round is a 3 way round robin, with a random, dark glad more sudden death (if we all go 1-1)

Only rules are NO CHEATING... wait.. if it is possible.... Just have fun and enjoy the tourny ^_^
