Priest

Ok why dos everyone hate the preist so much? He has the highest int gain sure his agi gain sucks. But if ur building a build who heavily uses spells like a combo of stormbolt and hex (i know but i like tha combo). The cd of stormbolt and hex are short enough that u ca rotate quite well with them and use misc skill to damage. Or if you have offensive spell that was short cd the preist seems to be the best bet. So why is he hated so?

Well, it's not that he is hated, it is just he is really weak early in the game(starts out with very little hp). But he is a good ganking hero because of his high int and decent move speed.

That is a pretty nice combo, since it prevents your opponent from attacking you for a long time. You can also use acid rain to farm using that.

he is the ultimate noob hero. People who have no idea at all how to use spells, conserve mana, or do anything that takes skill, will pick him.

I have seen it... prolly... at least twice every pub game I play. It is just such a nooby hero. It is like wearing a sign on your head that says "I lick salty nuts"

Any smart player will learn to use a hero, and understand the concept of a limited mana pool.


What good is spamming bash abilities if you cannot attack while they are bashed?

I know public players have no idea at all what mana burn, mana vortex, absorb mana, feedback, stone staff, or consume are. A few know what AMS potions are. All of them make your retarded ass priest build... even moreso retarded.

It is the complete and total lack of skill that is put into using priest that makes him the ass of all CHA related, int hero jokes.

Wow glorn. Lol well call me noob i kind of like the priest. I dont use flamestrike but ill besure to learn to use other heros. The preist just works well with stormbolt hex parasite whirlpool. But ill take what you said into consideration.

Well your build is lacking farming other than parasite which does work and you have a good amount of pvp but any smart player can counter your entire build in at least 2 rounds.The fact is that if you run priest and get out farmed your basically screwed.Because while he gains damage fast because of his int gain he has no agi or str gain so his survivability and dps is going to be low.Another thing that most players overlook about priest is that he has horribly slow cast times for an int hero.If I were you I would try running that build on heroes like Far-Seer Archmage Naga Seawitch just to give a few examples.These heroes all have powerful int gain but unlike priest they have some gains in other stats and better cast times.Also while their movement speed isn't quite as high with some boots of speed it's more than enough to get the job done.

Cast time? That can be adjusted? I did use necro with that build against territo. Thou i think he went easy on me. I justed used the preist cuz of high int and high moblity i wasnt worried too much about auto attack. But still being a nub i got a bit more to learn

No casting time is a fixed variable and it cannot be changed and if your going to use parasites you need to be able to auto attack because thats half of farming with parasite.If you want to pick your game up a bit try that build on prince of light.Though he is severely glass cannon you can do a lot of dps his mana pool and movement speed is very similar to priest but his agi gain is 3x his.The only downside of Prince of light is that he has very low hp you can fix this early game with something like rod of immortality but if you can just mass agi and int to max your dps.

The priest is good for one thing in any serious game (not 1v1's) As a pure pvp antagonizers in team games; purely because he can run around tossing spells down continuously with a fast move speed. Other than that, junk..

Thats true but prince of light can do the same job and pull it off 1v1.

Now to explain casting times different heroes have different casting times for instance agi is the slowest strength is medium and int is the fastest but this is only typically certain heroes break this formality for instance on agi chaos knight has fast casting times and on strength blacksmith and the strength archon these heroes cab compete with int heroes in there speed however there are heroes in the intellect class that have even faster casting times prince of light is one of them his casting is nearly instant.Now on the other side of this you have heroes with slow casting times for agi you have heroes like speed demon on strength you have Arthus and on int you have priest.

All im really going to say about this is that if your going to run a build depending on spells you should use a hero that can cast fast because that .5 of a second can be the difference between winning and losing the game.

How can u tell ones casting speed?

on some hero descriptions, it is stated as "very fast cast times" or something similar to that. But for most of them, you have to see for yourself I think. Just cast a spell and compare that same spell with different heroes. Some heroes will cast it almost instantly, others in like 0.5-2.0 seconds. I don't know of a post where you can actually see their casting speeds with actual numbers.
