terra vs mana sheild.

umm. if u guys could put ur input on this ^ it would be great. i am using terra a whole lot but i dont know what is really better about it

Mana shield has a defensive capacity all game. But I use terraptus to allow for more mana. This increases farming capacity and lets me farm faster and allow for a heal. One terraptus build Could be Flame breath, Holy light, Darkness, Terraptus. Mana shield cant really be used for gaining mana back but you can mesh it with Resore mana and a farm skill for a 3 way synergy. EX: Chain, Hex( or evasion, defend), resore mana, Mana shield. So, what do you choose? it all comes down to you play style. Both allow for fast farming and have the potential to be great ultimates in the early and late game. However Terraptus with alot of armor will be a late game power house over mana shield, unless you use defend and mana shield, which will come close but terraptus doesnt have to devote a defensive slot to an extreme late game skill.

Personally I think that mana shield has been nurfed to the point of it being nearly useless its is way to easy to counter if your purely using it for defense.Terra is still somewhat useful because of its farming applications, and as far as that goes holy light is most likely your best bet.Otherwise both work well with evasion or defend.But if you are going Terra I suggest item evasion over skill evasion purely so you can get holy light.

Defend sucks because when you activate it, it replaces armor as mitigation it's good for ms because armor doesn't work anyway

^^ yeah, defend+ms is rather strong. Prolly the strongest defensive combo you can get.

Also what many people dont realize.. MS also lowers spell damage by whatever the skill lowers damage by. That is, with mana shield; you dont have to worry much about always having spell reduction. Unlike terraptus, where you will have your HP rocked by good spells if you have no reduction.

Both skills have their ups and downs; and it really comes down to the rest of the skills in your build, and your specific play style as to which is better.
