MANA VORTEX

So here it is Mana vortex the most amazing and powerful counter to a vast majority of builds, and i am going to explain it to you to the best of my knowledge.

Removes 8% mana/lvl
Deals 300 dmg/lvl to summoned units

First vortex will not remove anything that cant be purged like corrupt flesh ams divine etc. Secondly vortex Removes your mana and thiers. Thirdly it is a giant crapshoot.

What to not do with Vortex.
When playing with vortex dont assume it will win you the game even against summons and/or mana shield/terraptus. When using vortex you need to keep aggressive and pay double attention to not getting outfarmed. Vortex doesn't need a ton of points to be effective so don't over invest in it. Remember that most other heroes will have a defensive that will make up a difference and or give them an advantage over you. Cast vortex as much as needed to keep your opponent weakened or out of mana don't over cast it and screw yourself over.

Don't be afraid to use mana intensive spells, vortex doesnt need a specific build to work well and it will work just as well on a triple farm as it will on an all passive build. You wont be able to cast spells without mana but neither will your opponent.

Something to remember is to not get outfarmed by your opponent because even if you shut down their entire build if they have twice your dps and twice your health they will still kill you.

yeti what do u mean by can be countered by a lighting orb burn? U mean after u cast it once and they burn your mana so u cant do it again? Cuz if thats the case, you already did a lot of damage just casting it once.

Heh; he does indeed mean that; but unless you are against a mana shield/terrap build.. a single vortex means nothing. Grab some minor mana regen (speed set) and a light orb... and you will still be able to cast all of your spells; and they will not be able to cast any at all.

This is a very strong counter to mana vortex, and I have relied on it many many times to overcome vortex builds.

Another thing with using Vortex, well that I find anyways. is don't off c/ main level it. Level your other skill along side of it, the cool down is short enough that you can still fuck over their summons / mana supply hitting them with 40-50% at a time as aopposed to the 96%. Furthermore, you'll also have another skill to hit them with as well. This helps with the lightning orb issue a bit, especially since you won't be losing all of your mana. a 60-80% vortex + light orb / stone staff is as good or better then 96% vortex most iof the time

An actually on rare occasions i have been able to aim vortex to nail my opponet(s) and leave my mana untouched ^^ pretty nice if u can manage to aim it right

You need a hero with a long cast range and a fast cast to pull that shit though, and it's more of a lucky chance thing than anything. But yes, that always makes me stoked on life when one can pull that off haha

actually; how long ago did you do that? Before this final edit; it was triggered differently. Now; it isnt your hero needing to be in the AoE; there is a direct trigger to reduce your mana.

Also; heroes cant set their own cast range; it is linked to the ability side of the relationship. (death orb has a cast range of 1600, dragon punch of 200)

In fact, when you use vortex, it doesnt matter if you are in the circle or not because I added in a condition to ignore the caster. (Or else it would burn you twice)

If it is still possible to dodge the mana drain on yourself; lemme know, cuz i gotta fix it ><

vortex also is one the better one point skills in the game . especially in team games, it serves as a full team abolish magic, couple it with an acid rain and between the abolish and the stun, you can interrupt and all casts and stop all buffs
