yea so im not sure what yall are talking about in the other locked thread. someone is using bots to hijack and freeze my bot?

yes i can make it so admins can't join full games, i thought i had but i guess it got switched, i blame wrath aka McHackencock (jk jk)

also as an FYI there are temp bans and perma bans, but i have both set right now to expire after a week so when we (I) ban someone who deserves it and forgets about them or goes inactive, that person isnt totally hosed. I suppose I COULD make an actual perma ban but that would have to be given to only a few people (think glorn and shamans). anyways yea give me some more info on what exactly i am looking for and i can try to make it better.

From what I gather from reading the post some dude was hosting under the exact same name and number as your bot and as a result of that anyone who joined his would show up in your lobby as downloading and being stuck at zero. I have no idea if that is even remotely possible but supposedly thats what happened. Dont know wasnt there did I get it right yo?

I don't know what it was I've never seen it before but yea a bunch of guys were joining and were unable to download and didn't leave. Since they all had the same IP and registered as DE on my ban list I assume it was one guy with a bot generating names. I just never seen anyone go to such lengths for a joke before. I'm not sure you can host a game under the same name as the v-bot. In fact I'm about 95% sure you would get the this name is already taken message.

yea as far as i know you cant host with same name. and same IP could come from multiple users on the same router i think but idk. if it was a one time occurance though i am not going to put a lot of effort into it...

There seems to be a problem with v-bot dropping people randomly from games, i first thoguh people were plug pulling but i got kicked twice in like 10 mins from 2 seperate games, and i know my internet is fine since i was streaming music

On a seperate but completely related issue, i think it would be nice to have the power to kick people from games back... i know some people abuse it, but being able to kick people from teh game was the major Anti afk tool we had.

Isnt that like !votekick (playername)? It requires votes, but that way everyone knows why you want to kick someone. If it is a good reason, like an afker, it works and everyone's happy.

Dota has a kick afk after 5 minutes if he could put something like that in cha say 2 minutes it would solve a lot -kickafk 2 measured by the amount of movement or apm.

not sure on the dropping thing, i can check the log when i get home if i remember. on the kicking thing, isn't there a vote kick built into the game by glorn? if so use it, if not i can talk to glorn about maybe adding back kicking privileges with the caveat that every kick will require a reason but unlike the banning reasons the kicks are not all logged in one easy place for me to go and check and i dont have the time or desire to moderate it.

well the easiest thing would be to give kicking privilidges to people you trust, and there could be a database of kicks... everytime you kick someone we could have a thread on forum where you have to place a replay parser with date/time/player kicked/reason. if a pub complains we can go back to the thread to check. if the kick wasn't reported, we can remove the kickers privileges.

thats a fine idea in theory, the problem is there is no reasonable way of making sure everyone is actually posting their kicks. the only reasonable answer is for glorn and maybe the other (read: more active) shamans to determine who deserves kicking privileges and i can set it as such.

well the thing is we don't have to check unless someone complains about an abuse. it doesn't make sense to check unless there is a problem which we would only see from a complaint or from an undercover shaman... which does happen even if we don't admit it, everyone in cha plays under alts from time to time to check behavior

That we do.But for the issue at hand there should be a way to mod the bot to create a database of kicked players the easiest way to do this is to use the already existing ban database.I would suggest creating some sort of false ban for the kicked player logging in into the database.The trick with this will be making it so the bans have no actual power.But im fairly sure it possible to do in the config.
