New Poetry Series!?

So I decided to start a Series of poems that I am calling "Thoughts of an Apocalypse." It is going to be about the thoughts and emotions felt by people during a zombie apocalypse. Each Poem will be from the perspective of a different person. I think If i do it right, i can make something pretty interesting to read.

Im going to post them here as I finish them so they dont get lost in the rest of the poetry thread.

Alright.. well i finished part one, it is from the perspective of one of the scientists that helped create the virus. here we go/./

The Scientist

We have ended mankind,
how did it get here?
Not careful enough,
punishment so severe.

What we thought would save millions
killed billions instead
but when people die now
They dont ever stay dead

Come up with a cure
You will all become gods
Now we all understand
The governments facade

We wanted to help,
to end death from disease
but they didnt want cures
Just dead enemies

we figured it out,
but they wouldnt be stopped,
one of us tried,
they opened fire, he dropped

Nothing we could have done
could have made up for the pain
we have caused through our work
experiments inhumane

I wish people knew,
all the guilt that I feel
mankinds hope dies with me,
now to the hunger i kneel.

IT sounds alot like the KV virus from I Am Legend, it was supposed to be a cure for cancer but mutated into a disease which could only be described as "Rabies on Crack." This is pretty good, and im eager to see more ^.^

Ive been playing a lot of L4D2 lately so im going to eat this up xP... Just let me write one tomorrow and ill post it

i picked a character that is devoutly religious. Im not really sure i like this one all that much.. so i May edit it, or re-write it.

Am I to stay faithful
even though I am in hell?
Or is it acceptable,
to have cracks in my shell?

In church we were promised
an escape from our pains
the illusion has faded
The truth in bloodstains

Why is this decision
being put into my head
If you're watching can't you see
that i'd rather be dead

Terrible choice upon me
kill myself or kill them all
no matter what the outcome
they both ensure my fall

The bite wound slowly bleeding
the pain begins to fade
once the hunger starts to build
the decision cannot be delayed

with bloodsoaked clothes I beg
please forgive me for my sins
I cannot take my own life

actually its the opposite =x.

he didnt kill himself.

he couldnt do it, so he now begins slaughter. i decided even he wasnt able to justify suicide.
suicide is a sin for sure, killing people as a zombie, thats a grey area. he went with the option that might not cause him to go to hell for sinning.

Yeah i realized that as i read it a second time, well at least i kinda captured the conflict... sorta.

and it aint a poem if someone gets everything they can in the first read = \

1. my assumption of the person saying they were in hell was that hell was metaphorical for the situation he found himself in on earth...a living hell if you will??
