This should all be written in various patch updates.... but okay.
The treasure chest, and the yiff_fox guarding it; they give a decent bit of gold for being killed. They give something like 300X their level in gold. Not positive. Also while in this area, you will get periodic gold. That is, gold every 15 seconds based on your hero level and how long you have been in the "treasure room" It starts off at like, 25Xlevel, and if you stay in for almost the whole duration of a duel-cooldown (after 5 minutes) it gets up to 50Xlevel, and if you are in for the entire creeping duration, the last tick gives you 100Xlevel in gold.
Also, you get a bonus hero level X50 in gold for killing an enemy hero in there. It is a good place to duke it out if you wanna 1v1 someone on the other team, without idiot allies interfering; or giving the other player the ability to run. It adds a little more pain to the matter; with the bonus gold.
